Privacy policy
The BirdShows Network is a family of bird sites operated by Kevin Allen (“we”): BirdShows.com, ParrotShows.com, BirdBoard.com, BirdMarts.com, BirdToys.com. This policy covers all of them and the email list they share.
What we collect
- Email alerts: your email, an optional zip/postal code, the state or province and area you asked about, which signup form you used, the date, and the IP address the signup came from. Optional: the birds you keep.
- Organizers: name, email and show details you submit or claim.
- Saved shows: your email and the show, so we can send the two reminders you asked for.
- Basic server logs. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use third-party advertising trackers.
One signup for the whole network
When you sign up, you tick a box that reads: “Send me bird show alerts plus news and offers from the BirdShows Network (BirdShows.com, ParrotShows.com, BirdBoard.com, BirdMarts.com, BirdToys.com). Unsubscribe anytime.” We then email you a link to confirm (double opt-in). Nothing is sent until you click it. We record the date and time, your IP address, the exact wording and version you agreed to, and which form you used, so we can show your consent.
Your email is used only within the BirdShows Network. We never sell it or share it with anyone else. On your preferences page you can stop emails from any one member site (for example, keep show alerts but stop BirdToys.com offers), or unsubscribe from all of them in one click.
Your controls
Every email has a link to your preferences page, where you can change your area or birds, turn either kind of email on or off, or unsubscribe from everything in one click. You can also ask us to export or delete your data at privacy@birdshows.com (US CAN-SPAM, Canada CASL, EU/UK GDPR).
Who processes data for us
Email delivery (Resend), payments for sponsors (Stripe) and hosting. They only process data to provide their service to us.
Retention
We keep subscriber records while you’re subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record of your email and your consent history so we never email you by mistake and can show what you agreed to.
